El Galeon, and an Exploration of Portland

We took a trip up to Portland, Maine, this weekend to see El Galeon, a 1/1 reconstruction of a 16th century Spanish sailing ship. We were worried about pirates, but came out clean – however we did get to some swashbuckling at the local breweries afterwards.

It was certainly a cool piece of history to see, and made me glad the only boats I have to ride on pull me in an inner tube.

No pirate jokes were made in the touring of this ship.
