Aperture on Amesbury No. 1: A Small Town Mill Tour in Amesbury, MA

This past Saturday I got a unique view of Amesbury’s past.

This Amesbury mill tour, Aperture on Amesbury No. 1, was lead by¬†Tim¬†Gurczak on behalf of the Amesbury Carriage museum, and gave us rarely-seen access to the inner workings of Amesbury’s mill foundation.

To those familiar with the Carriage Town, we got a back-stage look into the Amesbury Industrial Supply building, the basement of the Newburyport Five Cent Savings Bank, and the mills down across from the Crave Bistro (Mill No. 17 on Water Street). The tour concluded with an early-access view of the coming Carriage Museum, which is guaranteed to be quite the site once completed.

Enjoy the visual history of this little town, hopefully as much as we did!
